Website Accessibility Information
"The power of the Web is in its universality.
Access by everyone regardless of disability is an essential aspect."
-- Tim Berners-Lee, W3C Director
Colorado WIN Partners/UCDHSC has worked with Electronic Storefronts Inc. to
create a website that is accessible to all users including those with
disabilities. We have followed the Federal Government’s Web Content
Accessibility Guidelines from the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).
We strive to:
-
Provide a text equivalent for images and
graphical buttons or graphical representations of text (including symbols).
-
Ensure that the foreground and background
color combinations provide sufficient contrast when viewed on a black and
white screen.
-
Identify row and column headers in data
tables and make sure the table makes sense when linearized.
-
Ensure that windows do not appear with out
informing the user.
-
Clearly identify the target of each link.
-
Use navigation mechanisms in a consistent
manner.
-
Place distinguishing information at the
beginning of headings, paragraphs, lists, etc.
-
Provide information about document
collections.
-
Use the clearest, simplest language
appropriate for the site’s content and create documents that adhere to
published formal grammars.
-
Supplement text with graphic presentations
where they will facilitate comprehension of the page.
-
Create a style of presentation that is
consistent across pages.
-
Use header elements to convey logical
structure and use them according to specification.
-
Provide a feature that allows the user to
increase the font size on our Webpages.
-
Provide a text-only version of our website
to facilitate printing and ensure accessibility.

PDF Documents
Currently, our website contains documents in
Adobe Acrobat PDF (Portable Document Format). Depending on the design of the
document, screen reading devices may not be able to read these. Adobe Systems,
Inc. is in the process of designing products to make PDF documents more
accessible. You can find more information on their efforts at
http://access.adobe.com.
Our website provides some PDF files in text versions as well. To request a
Colorado WIN Partners/UCDHSC document in an alternate format, please click here
